This ain't yo Momma's golf league - this is Your Golf League!

Handicap calculations largely follow official USGA rules. See this site for an explanation. We only take the best eight out of the last sixteen rounds (instead of best ten out of twenty). For equitable stroke control, we chose to use nothing higher than a triple bogey on any given hole.

Rules Clarifications

Gimmies

For double bogey or better, gimmies must be in the leather of a standard length putter.

Out of bounds

All out of bounds are played as lateral hazards. Note that the street behind #4 is out of bounds.

Fences

The fences behind #3, #6, along #4, and the support poles for the practice range on #7 and #8 are out of bounds. If the fence/netting impacts your swing you do not receive free relief, unplayable ball rules should be followed.

Lift clean and place

Lift clean and place will be in effect when the pro shop indicates cart path only. You may only lift clean and place if the ball is in the fairway of the hole you are currently playing.

Inclement Weather Guidelines

If there is possibility of inclement weather all groups must tee off within the official tee time window (4:20 - 4:50). If the course allows we can skew that entire window earlier or later as needed given current conditions. Bottom line, we all play in the same window/conditions.

Play will be suspended immediately if the clubhouse sounds the inclement weather horn.

If the clubhouse does not sound the horn but conditions become unplayable or dangerous play will also be suspended. This is more subjective but things to consider are heavy rain/wind, standing water, etc.

For example:

Standing Water:"Play is suspended if there is widespread standing water on greens that prevents putting, or significant casual water on fairways that makes finding or playing a ball impractical."

Wind:"Play is suspended if wind conditions are deemed hazardous due to the risk of falling branches or difficulty in maintaining balance."

Just to clarify, conditions must be considered unplayable, not uncomfortable.

We will have a group text message for condition/safety concerns discussion and notification of suspension of play.

After suspension of play we will attempt to complete the round on match day if conditions improve. If play is restarted, but an individual player can't/chooses not to complete the round their round is considered a "no show" round.

The round is only considered official if all groups complete the round that day. In the event that all groups can't complete the round all scores are thrown out and we replay the matches the following week.
